The mudpy engine is barely a chat server at the moment, but カタルシス // Katarsis, a proof-of-concept implementation of the latest version of mudpy, will usually run on katarsis.mudpy.org port 6669. Connect with your favorite MUD or Telnet client to try it out.

Alternately, you can try our Web interface client by browsing to https://www.yuggoth.org/connect/katarsis/. It’s built on Ajaxterm and should work through firewalls where Telnet won’t, though it’s a little sluggish compared to a typical Telnet client. It’s configured for UTF-8 encoding of extended characters, as long as your browser uses a font with the relevant glyphs. It’s encrypted via SSL too, in case you’re looking for a little extra privacy (certificate signed by CAcert‘s root key, which you might want to import into your browser).
